PRAGMATIC ADAPTATION OF THE AVIATION TEXTS
This article attempts analyze the main aspects and techniques of pragmatic adaptation as a way of translation of aviation texts. The civil aviation sector in recent years received considerable development. However, this development is directed not only on improvement of air transport and aviation services, but also on communication. Due to this, the popularity of air travel increased, and with this – the number of texts of aviation subjects. Considering the international nature of aviation activities itself, there is a need for translation of the texts belonging to this field. Therefore, we have investigated basic types of pragmatic adaptation of aviation texts on the examples of texts published on the web-pages of the airports Heathrow (London, UK) and "Berlin-Tegel named after Otto Lilienthal" (Germany).
According to the results of our study, we have identified the most frequent methods of pragmatic adaptation of translation texts. In particular, we have discovered that in the process of translating the texts of the airport's web-pages, translators use Anglicism’s in cases where they simplify the understanding of the translation and are quite common in the field of travel. Duplication of information simultaneously in several languages is aimed at explaining the information provided and preparing the recipient of the translated text to the perception of this information in real terms and in the case of lack of time and lack of translated text. By the removal method of a part of the text, the author of the text concentrates the attention of a certain circle of translation recipients to the actual information for them and removes what is not addressed to this circle of recipients. But by adding information, the recipient of the text of the translation provides additional information that can simplify the travel of the passenger or simply interest him. Thus, even if the information is not addressed to a certain number of recipients of the text of the translation, they are able to get acquainted with it without restrictions caused by the difference in linguistic experience.
