TRANSLATION OF OCCASIONALISMS IN THE STYLISTICALLY MARKED CONTENTS OF THE GERMAN MEDIA-PUBLIC DISCUSSION

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the stylistic function of occasionalisms in the German media-public discourse. The object of this research is the occasionalisms as the one of the methods to make a vivid imagery in the publicistic texts. The subject of the research is the stylistic function of occasionalism’s innovations in texts of the German media-public discourse.

The purpose of the research highlights the translation peculiarities of occasionalisms in the German media-public discussion with the stylistically marked context.

The method of the componential analysis, the method of the definitional analysis the generalization, the systematization are used while studying. Identification of the correlation of occasionalisms with other words in the text, their comparisons of them with usual lexemes are based on the linguistic and stylistic analysis.

Results of the research. The authors have tracked the dependence of the denominated expression in the text on the semantic potential of occasionalisms, as well as on the means of actualizing the internal form of the word and their compositional and stylistic functions. The most productive and interesting aspects of the aesthetic value of word-building are analyzed: as well as the word composition and the word stem composition that cover all parts of the language. The synthesis of signs based on a comparison is in the semantics of a complex word. The general methods of the translation of occasional formations from German into Ukrainian and ways of translation of occasionalisms depending on the method of creation are described.

The authors concluded that the author's occasionalism in the texts of the German media-journalistic discourse should be perceived as a normal language phenomenon, and the absence of a word in a dictionary should not be an obstacle for translation. In addition, the translation practice makes the largest contribution to the replenishment of the language vocabulary by new words. The translation of the occasionalisms of the German media into Ukrainian occurs in two steps: 1) determination of the meaning of the neologism (when a translator refers to the dictionary or interprets the meaning of a new word, taking into account its structure and context); 2) proper translation into Ukrainian, namely: transcription/transliteration, calque, descriptive translation, functional substitution.
